Ana Gonzales bio
Ana Gonzalez de Jorgenson was born in Mexico into a family that included musicians. The majority of her childhood was spent listening to classical music, old boleros, and traditional romantic and ranchero ballads. Ana is an avid fan of tangos. Additionally, she enjoys operas and any form theatrical performance. When she was 16 years old, she began to sing and study the piano with her mom. Flavio, a Mexican tenor of great renown began to give her more intense singing instruction. She continued her musical training in the School of Music of Guadalajara University, then at the School of Sacred Music, Toluca. While a student, and when she was a professional young at the time in Mexico City and Guadalajara she performed with various chamber groups and choirs. In 2000 she moved to America. United States and sang with the Fort Lauderdale Symphony Chorus. In 2007, she returned to her current home in Southern California. She sings in Ensemble XXI Redlands, and performs Latin American traditional music solo at many private events. As an instructor and performer in the local area the passion for music and art keeps her involved in a range of initiatives. Ana is a previous member of Community Chorus of Redlands (as being a member of the Inland Master Chorale) and Performance Loft. Ana is hoping that, through her sharing songs from Latin American traditional songs, that she will inspire a love, especially in the younger generations, for keeping this music alive.
